A Ukrainian child refugee has received the same doll that she had to leave behind when travelling to the UK.

Along with her mother Tatyana, they arrived to stay with a sponsor family in Epsom and Ewell as part of the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

The sponsor family contacted the baby bank charity Stripey Stork to get help sourcing some practical items.

The charity uses a model similar to a food bank to help provide essentials to families with young children.

Nicola Dawes, founder and chief executive of the charity said it was a moment of joy and connection.
