Chelsea director Eugene Tenenbaum has been sanctioned by the government because of his links to its owner Roman Abramovich.

Together with David Davidovich, another associate of the Russian oligarch, assets worth £10-billion have been frozen.

That’s said to be the largest in British history. 

Mr Abramovich is currently in the process of selling Chelsea.

Bidders have until today to submit their final offer.
