More than 25% of children in the UK are estimated to live with an adult who has experienced domestic abuse and violence.

Now, a new study, is looking to better understand how these young people can be supported when they need help.

The research is being conducted by a number of universities, domestic violence charity SafeLives and Research in Practice.

Professor of Social Work at Kingston University, Rick Hood says often mothers in these situations are treated inadequately.
