Spectators of this afternoon’s Oxford Cambridge Boat Race are being urged to watch it from a nearby park.

Hammersmith Bridge, which is a traditional vantage point, is closed to all users, including those on foot because of ongoing works.

Putney Embankment and the surrounding roads will also be closed to traffic.

The Women’s race starts at 2.23, followed by the Men’s race an hour later.
