Wandsworth Council is developing a new food strategy to make sure more children have access to free meals.

Next week’s meeting of the Children’s Committee will be asked to support the scheme with the help of community partners and families.

Wandsworth foodbank has reported the number of emergency food supplies to local people has increased by 53 per cent since Covid 19.

Plans include working with the charity Magic Breakfast which is preparing a proposal to support free meals in up to 20 schools.
