Applications for a slice of funding set aside for community projects in Surrey are apparently coming from the more wealthy parts of the county.

The cost-of-living crisis is now prompting calls to reassess how the £100 million “Your Fund Surrey” is allocated.

The Residents’ Association and independent councillors want a pause in spending to better align the fund with the council’s priorities.

Previously funded projects include a family recreation ground in Claygate and the Weybridge Men’s Shed.
