Thames Water is going to have to return around £51m to customers, after being hit with financial penalties

11 suppliers in total have been hit with financial penalties.

The regulator Ofwat says the utility companies have been fined for missing targets on things like supply interruptions, pollution, and sewer flooding.

If Thames was to give equal refunds to all its customers, that would work out to around £3.40 each.
