A proposal for the management of the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse has been approved by Elmbridge Borough Council which owns the site.
As well as theatre productions, the proposal from the Community Trust includes using it for activities and a volunteering programme.
The council has agreed to offer the trust a 15 year lease and funding over 5 years subject to final lease agreement, contract and surveys.
