Women of colour who have had a mastectomy are being offered soft prosthetics in a range of realistic skin colours for the first time.

They’ve been launched by Chelsea and Sutton based The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Nubian Skin.

Some women use “softies” temporarily before reconstructive surgery, while others wear one before using a permanent silicon prothesis.

The launch comes at the start of October, which is both Breast Cancer Awareness and Black History Month.
