Young people in Epsom are being taught about the racing heritage of the borough in which they live.

Epsom Downs Racecourse is working alongside Racing to School on a new project at Blenheim High School and Nescot College.

The first recorded race was held at Epsom in 1661and the course has a crowd capacity of over 130,000.

The year-round beacon programme is designed to connect students to the site’s history and introduce them to future job prospects.
