Fireworks at Twickenham Stoop in 15-try thriller as Harlequins triumph over Barbarians

In an exhilarating friendly under the floodlights at the Twickenham Stoop, Harlequins emerged victorious.

A tight first half saw the invitational side, captained by former Quins Mike Brown, go into the break with a narrow lead; a conversion separating the two teams despite the Barbarians having fly-half Damian McKenzie sin-binned for 10 minutes.

They continued their momentum at the start of the second 40-minutes, extending their lead to 28 points.  That, however, is where their scoring came to an end.

Harlequins, meanwhile, started to play for fun and in turn came up with some fantastic plays - overhead kicks; Dombrandt attempting a conversion; and the biggest cheer of the evening went to Joe Marler who converted his own try for the hosts.

Play was fast-paced in this historic showcase.  The first time Harlequins have faced the Barbarians; the first win going to the hosts.

Full Time at the Twickenham Stoop: Harlequins 73 - 28 Barbarians
