A house fire in Thornton Heath caused damage to most of the roof and half of the first floor of an end-of-terrace house.

The fire brigade were called to St Stephens Crescent at around 4.30 yesterday afternoon and the fire was under control by 6.30pm 

The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by water coming into contact with electrics.

There were no reports of any injuries.
