The Lib Dem MP for Richmond Park is proposing introducing a bill to raise energy efficiency standards for buildings.

Sarah Olney has taken the “Minimum Energy Performance of Buildings Bill” to the House of Commons this week.

If passed, the legislation would lawfully require all buildings achieve at least Energy Performance Certificate Band C by 2033.

A report by Citizen’s Advice found more than 2.7million privately rented households live with damp, mould and excessive cold.
