Dog-walkers in Richmond and Bushy Parks are being reminded they must keep their animals on a lead throughout the Month of May

The month is expected to see the births of more than 300 deer in herds living in two of the royal parks.

The mandatory use-of leashes for dogs began four years ago.

Rangers say the deer have become less nervous since the introduction. 

All park visitors are being urged not to approach the dear during the birthing season.
