Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey has been responding to a government plan to tackle sewage spills with unlimited fines for polluters

 There were 301,082 spills in 2022 and water companies could be fined. It’s proposed the current limit of 250,000 pounds be raised to 25 or 250 million pounds.

 The Kingston and Surbiton MP says his party has been calling for an overhaul of the country’s water and sewage system for years.
