People in Kingston say plans for the redevelopment of the Kingfisher Leisure Centre need to go back to the drawing board

The £40 million scheme is on hold due to an “unprecedented impact on budgets” caused by the country’s financial situation. 

Kingston Council says it remains committed to building a new swimming and leisure centre in the town centre. 

Jon Tolley resigned his position as a Lib Dem councillor over the situation.
