Pupils from St Mary’s Primary in Battersea have taken to the streets to ask drivers to turn off their engines while waiting

They handed out leaflets and talked to motorists about how idling affects pollution levels. 

St Mary’s new anti-idling awareness exercise aims to reduce vehicle exhaust emissions.  

A ‘superzone’, funded by the GLA and involving air quality monitors, has been created around the school.
