Retail giant Westfield has bought out its partner in the Croydon Partnership, paving the way for regeneration in the town centre

Hammerson has sold its 50% stake, which includes the Whitgift and Centrale shopping centres. 

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield will work with the council to “develop a new masterplan”. 

It’s unclear how much Hammerson sold for, but the company’s share price crashed during the pandemic and has never recovered.
