Surrey’s police and firefighters are going to fast for Ramadan.

They will abstain from food and drink, including water, for one day, from sunrise to sunset, next Tuesday.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer and reflection.
