27-year-old Laszlo Dancs admitted drink and drug driving, and causing the death of 41-year-old Olivia Riley in May last year.
She was the stepdaughter of Lucinda Riley, who wrote the Seven Sisters book series.
Dancs will be sentenced at the end of July.
