The attack happened on Monday evening at around 9.30 near Tesco Express in the High Street.
A number of men approached the victim’s black Suzuki and assaulted him, causing serious injuries to his head and hands.
The suspects are all described as white men in their 20s and three were reported to have been wearing tracksuit bottoms.
