The Lib Dem leader says his party did so well at the local elections because it cares about what matters to voters.

They gained majority control of twelve councils across England, including Surrey Heath, which is their highest gain since 1995.

Sir Ed Davey, who is also the MP for Kingston and Surbiton, says it’s part of a pattern of success against Conservative led areas.
