A man found dead on a street in Mitcham has been named, as police ask for help to find out what happened to him.

The body of Loeike Guei, who was 23 and lived in Thornton Heath, was found, on fire, on Commonside East, just after 6am on Thursday morning.

His family are aware and are being supported.

A post-mortem yesterday gave a preliminary cause of death as a head injury.

The MET Police’s Specialist Crime Command are investigating and urge anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: “Loeike’s family are traumatised and we need the help of the public in bringing them justice.”
