Politicians are vowing to change controversial legislation, which potentially overrides the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement
The Internal Market Bill passed its first hurdle in the House of Commons , securing a majority of 77. While only two Tory MPs directly voted against it, 30 abstained, including the members for Wimbledon and Runnymede. Wimbledon MP Stephen Hammond says “this country cannot break international law just because it does not like the compromise it signed up to”. Meanwhile, Runnymede’s Dr Ben Spencer, is asking the government to “think again” and says international law shouldn’t be “pre-emptively” violated.
