Work has started on traffic calming measures in Chiswick, after protests stopped construction twice
Barriers are to be introduced on Staveley Road to prevent rat running, as cars would drive down the straight road at speed. The council has spoken to the protest group, who were concerned about the removal of a traffic island necessary to introduce the barrier. However, the council says that if the barrier is successful, then the need for the island would be reduced. The scheme is to be trialled for six months, with an open consultation.
