Dave Prowse, the actor who played Darth Vader before spending his later years living in Croydon, has died at the age of 85
Dave Prowse - who played Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy - has died at the age of 85. The former bodybuilder from Bristol, who spent his later years living in Croydon, was cast in the role which was voiced by James Earl Jones. Prowse also played the Green Cross Code Man - promoting road safety in the UK. And he was personal trainer to the Superman star, Christopher Reeve. His agent says he passed away following a short illness.
