Tributes are continuing to pour in for Captain Sir Tom Moore, following his death at the age of 100
A minute's silence has been held in the House of Commons to honour him and all victims of the coronavirus pandemic. Merton Council is flying its flag at half mast, and Council Leader Mark Allison says he was a “beacon of kind heartedness.” The White House says it stands with the UK in remembering him. He died yesterday in hospital, having recently tested positive for coronavirus. Tributes to the 100-year-old NHS hero have been coming in from political leaders, army colleagues and even the Queen. Boris Johnson is encouraging us to join in with a national clap for Captain Sir Tom Moore and healthcare workers this evening at 6pm.
