Buildings across London have been lit up orange in respect of Sarah Everard
In Sutton, the flagpole at the Civic Centre was lit up, and the council leader says she’s speaking to organisations on how to drive change. In Richmond, leader Gareth Roberts says it’s “one of the most widespread and devastating human rights violations” today. Orange is the colour of the international campaign to end violence against women and girls. An inquest has opened her into death. The hearing in Maidstone has been adjourned until after criminal proceedings are completed. Police officer Wayne Couzens is charged with her murder.
