Labour says it'll focus on the nurses' pay row in its campaign for May's local election
Leader Sir Keir Starmer's demanding "a proper pay rise" for NHS workers, after the government's controversial 1 percent increase. The move has been widely criticised by staff and unions - who say they were promised double that. Campaigners will carry out a sarcastic "slow handclap" tonight in protest against the government's proposed one percent pay rise for NHS staff in England.
