Two police officers have been treated for broken bones after a protest in Bristol turned violent
A police station was attacked, vehicles set on fire and fireworks thrown. The home secretary's called the scenes 'unacceptable' - while the city's mayor says it was a 'shameful day'. The demo had begun as a peaceful rally in opposition to the government's policing bill - which would allow forces to impose conditions on protests. Sarah Jones is the Labour MP for Croydon Central, and shadow policing minister. She says “I hope this criminal behaviour is dealt with swiftly. My thoughts are with the police who have been injured.”
