Police have formally identified a man killed in Walton yesterday as Matthew Tester, known locally as Tik, aged 49, from Walton

A man is still being questioned on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Police were called to Church Street at around 2.15pm following reports a car had been driven into a pedestrian.

The victim his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second man was airlifted to hospital but is expected to recover.

The owner of the vehicle was arrested and remains in police custody.

Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen a white 1 series BMW in the area during the immediate period beforehand or afterwards.

It left from the scene on Church Street at around 2pm, driving towards the High Street. 

Anyone with dashcam footage or any information is urged to contact Surrey Police or Crimestoppers to remain anonymous.
