The MP for Twickenham has described how pleased she was to receive her first Oxford AstraZeneca Covid-19 jab on Friday.
Munira Wilson said the process at The Acorn Group Practice was quick and painless. She said she had confidence in the jab despite all the concerns about blood clots and wanted to protect herself and the community. She is eligible for the vaccination because her husband is on medication that suppresses the immune system. She issued this statement: “New advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) anyone over the age of 16 in the same household as a person who is immunosuppressed should be vaccinated”. “The vaccination programme continues to be key to saving lives and allowing us all to return to normality. In the Twickenham constituency over 50,000 people have already had their first dose and all the available COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to be safe and effective. As soon as people are contacted by the NHS for their jab, I urge them to make and attend their appointments”
