Two arts students at Kingston University have gathered other students nationwide to protest against the closure of facilities in lockdown.

Ellis Tree and Ruby Betts have sent protests  at Kingston University to the Universities Minister, but say they’ve only received a “stock” response.

Ellis says their degrees are “impossible” in lockdown, and they shouldn’t be charged full fees now the courses will be online only.

Kingston University says they recognise the challenges, but praised the “innovation and diverse approaches” students have displayed through the pandemic.

Facilities opened in March for booking and one-to-one use with a technician.

We’ve contacted the Department for Education for comment.
