Marine experts say they are "on stand" to euthanise the Minke Whale that has become trapped at Teddington and "end its suffering”

The British Divers Marine Life Rescue say they will wait until the whale is beached before taking any action.

The mammal first surfaced at Richmond Lock last night where rescuers attempted to coax it back into open water.

However it swam away before returning to Teddington Lock this morning where well-wishers gathered to see it on its way.
