A housing block in Croydon has been without water in some cases now for several days.
Bridge House is managed by HML who have said they will carry out repairs today. Residents were advised that it was not deemed necessary to install a temporary water supply as it would rupture a pressurised system. We have contacted HML, and they have issued the following statement. We have been liaising with a number of parties since Sunday in an attempt to resolve this issue, with contractors visiting on site and Enterprise Services delivering water yesterday and an additional 380 litres supply this morning. We have further put in place overnight security to assist in the event of an evacuation. We appreciate that the provision of alternative accommodation has been mentioned, however this is outside of HML’s control and the decision, in relation to the reimbursement of all associated costs for alternative accommodations for residents, ultimately lies with the building insurance broker and the Freeholder and not with HML.
