A new 900 place Church of England Secondary school is to be built on the Kingsmeadow site in Norbiton.
Kingston Council has approved a proposal by the Diocese of Southwark. The authority says demand for Year 7 places has grown in the past five years, from 1,642 applicants in 2017 to 1,894 this year. All 11 year olds were also offered a place at one of their preferred schools or an alternative in 2017. But this year, 158 children were without an offer by March the 1st. The new school is due to open in September 2024. But its development is subject to the formal disposal of the current site and planning permission.
