More than 4 million people in Greater Manchester and parts of Lancashire are being asked to follow new guidance to slow the rise of the Delta Covid variant
The government wants residents to avoid meeting others indoors, and resist non-essential travel. Richmond’s Director of Public Health is reassuring residents that Covid cases are under control in the borough. Shannon Katiyo has been looking at the impact the new Delta variant, first detected in India, is having on the town. There have been more than 3,400 cases of this variant confirmed nationwide since May the 12th. But Mr Katiyo has told the Talk Richmond Podcast that what’s happening at the moment, is not abnormal.
