People in Whitton are being reassured that the ward won’t be pushed out of Richmond borough

Parliamentary boundaries are currently being reviewed by the Boundary Commission for England. 

Reviews are carried out periodically to allow for population changes. 

Under proposals, people in Whitton who currently vote for their MP in Twickenham constituency, will be moved to Brentford and Isleworth. 

But Richmond council leader Gareth Roberts says the proposal would have no impact on local elections.

He says residents would still vote in Richmond Council elections, pay their Council Tax to Richmond and receive its services.
