18 year-old Brandon McNeil of Lollard Street in Lambeth is accused of murdering Shane Jerome, who was 23 and lived in Thornton Heath.
McNeil was remanded in custody to appear at The Old bailey on Tuesday.
An 18 year-old man arrested on Thursday over the inciodent has been released without charge.
A 17 year-old has been bailed until a date later in August.
