It follows the issue of government guidance which says councils should always leave cycling and walking schemes in place for long enough to make a proper assessment.
Last week the council decided to extend changes to Chiswick High Road for another 18 months despite fierce opposition from local businesses and some residents.
The authority says the changes have encouraged cycling and reduced the number of accidents on the road since they were first introduced last winter.
