People in Mortlake are celebrating this morning after London Mayor Sadiq Khan refused plans to redevelop the historic Stag Brewery

The plan, by Reselton, was for 1,250 homes, 30% of which would be affordable, and included a secondary school and care village.

Richmond Council outlined its concerns regarding traffic and the increased height and bulk of some of the buildings.

Richmond Park MP Sarah Olney says that would have been “hugely damaging”.

Conservative Assembly Member for South West London Nicholas Rogers says building on it is inevitable, and residents are concerned about the size of it.
