The fire brigade took over 600 calls to floods across London yesterday
In Worcester Park, they needed to use a special boat to help five people stuck in a car that got stuck in floods under the railway bridge. There was around four foot of rainwater, and a police cordon. The clubhouse at Worcester Park FC has been severely flooded, and a gofundme has been set up to pay for the damage caused. Elsewhere, Whipps Cross and Newham Hospitals in east London both urged emergency patients to go elsewhere after flooding at the A&E unit. We’re being told not to drive into floodwater, as you don’t know how deep it is or what’s in it. Kingston Police are reminding people that “you’re not driving a submarine”.
