The Mayor of London has turned down an application to redevelop historic Stag Brewery in Mortlake.

The plan was for 1,250 homes, 30% of which would be affordable, and included a secondary school and care village.

Richmond Council had already outlined concerns regarding the bulk and height of some of the buildings as well as transport issues.

The Hammersmith Bridge closure was also a factor, and it meant increased traffic around the site.

Developer, Reselton Properties says its current design had been modified to fit specifications from the Mayor.

Today’s decision by Sadiq Khan had been delayed by the Coronavirus pandemic.
