A top girl’s school in Putney will now allow girls to wear more revealing clothing, as part of an attempt to combat victim blaming.

Putney High School used to say that sixth formers must be “sensibly dressed with no bare midriff, no bare shoulders, and no torn clothing”.

The Telegraph reports that the death of Sarah Everard in Clapham caused the change, with many pupils going to the vigil.

Headteacher Suzie Longstaff says it’s about the safety of women, and they should be able to wear what they want.
