Croydon Council is welcoming what it’s calling a “landmark” 4G deal.

The authority has teamed up with network service provider Freshwave to install additional “small cells” in streetlamps.

These cells, which boost 4G coverage will be situated, in areas including Thornton Heath and Purley High Street.

The authority says boosting internet connectivity is a priority to help employment opportunities in the borough.
