Croydon Council looks set to continue running all 13 of its libraries.

It’s after a consultation revealed people would be happier with them opening for shorter hours rather than see the services outsourced.

They’ll open on average two fewer days a week and the council will also look to hire them out for community use.

The authority is trying to save £500,000 after it issued a Section 114 notice, effectively declaring itself bankrupt.
