Dams on the famous Pen Ponds in Richmond Park are on the verge of collapse.

The area around the site has now been closed off for eight weeks so the Environment Agency can pin and raise them by eight centimetres.

The Pen Ponds Causeway is a stretch of land between the reservoirs and White Lodge Royal Ballet School.

Increased footfall has also damaged the pathways around the ponds.
