Police are reminding people not to go swimming at Teddington Lock.

Some parts of the Thames are very deep, and sections of water stay cold whatever the weather, putting you at risk of hyperthermia.

Even on a hot day, the main risks is cold-water shock, and the unseen currents beneath the surface can catch you out and pull you under.

Officers are encouraging parents to remind their children of the risks of jumping in the river.
