There are fears a new hospital partnership between Epsom, St Helier, and St George’s, could mean services being transferred across them

Mitcham and Morden MP Siobhan McDonagh says there are already proposals that will see St Helier lose it’s A&E, maternity services and more.

There is also an ongoing consultation about kidney services moving away from St Helier and into St George’s.

Ms McDonagh says this is a “worrying trend” and downgrading St Helier means “moving acute services from an area of deprivation to one of wealth”.

The NHS says the grouping will allow them to “strengthen the professional networks” and “nothing outwardly will change”.
