Tory MPs have turned on Dominic Raab over his handling of the worsening situation in Afghanistan.

The foreign secretary and MP for Esher and Walton has faced calls from colleagues to resign as he enjoyed the last day of his holiday while the Taliban regained control of the country's capital, Kabul.

Last Friday he failed to make an urgent call to his Afghan counterpart to request assistance evacuating interpreters.

Mr Raab has defended his decision saying he prioritised "security and capacity at the airport".
